Squidlian Start-up Sequence

Batteries:

  • Apply voltmeter across each battery to verify charge level.  They should be charged to the same voltage. 

  • Charge levels above 12.2VDC are dangerous for LED circuit survival due to current draw.

 

Structure & Trim:

  • Verify all seals have been made and test leak control by emerging the craft underwater.  

  • Verify that the displacement of water is at the water line of the craft and not below or above.  Water line being lower than expected indicates some payload has not been loaded.  Waterline below indicates too much payload or water is present.

 

Computer & Payload:

  • Establish computer connection through Ethernet to the microcontroller.  

  • Verify connection to video camera.  

  • Test camera rotation.  

  • Test LED lighting functionality.  

  • Test each propulsion system.
